ISLAMABAD, January 10, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday commended the Muslim World League (MWL) for its efforts in promoting the true identity of Islam at the global level, fostering mutual respect and understanding among religions and cultures, and advancing the shared goals of the Muslim world.

He made these remarks during a meeting with the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, at the Prime Minister House. The prime minister extended his gratitude to Dr. Al-Issa for the MWL’s decision to establish the Sirat Museum in Pakistan and emphasized the country’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of joint initiatives, including this significant project.

Highlighting MWL’s contributions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the organization’s leadership in co-hosting the upcoming International Conference on Girls’ Education in Muslim Countries, scheduled for January 11-12 in Islamabad. He underscored the importance of the event, which aims to send a strong global message about the Muslim world’s dedication to promoting girls’ education.

Dr. Al-Issa shared that the conference would conclude with the issuance of the “Islamabad Declaration,” a consensus-based document focused on advancing girls’ education across Muslim countries. He highlighted the participation of distinguished scholars, academicians, and experts from various schools of thought worldwide, who would work to dispel misunderstandings on critical issues such as women’s education and Islamophobia.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the MWL’s objectives and stressed the nation’s resolve to strengthen the bond between Pakistan and the broader Muslim Ummah.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing fraternal ties with Saudi Arabia, expressing his good wishes for King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud.

The premier also raised concerns over the situation in the Middle East, condemning Israeli atrocities against Palestinians and urging the international community to take meaningful action to address the ongoing Gaza crisis.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Maliki, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
