Dera Ismail Khan, January 10, 2025: Security forces killed five terrorists, including a key ringleader, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan district on Friday, the military’s media affairs wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed.

According to the ISPR, the operation was launched following reports of the terrorists’ presence in the area. “During the operation, own troops effectively engaged the location of the ‘khwarij,’ killing five terrorists in an exchange of fire, including their ring leader, Shafiullah alias Shafi,” the statement said.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were reportedly involved in multiple attacks on security forces and the targeted killing of innocent civilians.

Following the operation, a sanitization effort is underway to ensure no other terrorists remain in the vicinity. The security forces reiterated their commitment to eliminating terrorism from the country.

The operation highlights the ongoing resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces to ensure peace and stability by neutralizing threats posed by terrorist elements.
