Lahore, January 16, 2025: Renowned Pakistani singer and politician Jawad Ahmad has been accused of misconduct with Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) officials during an investigation into alleged electricity theft at a beauty salon owned by his wife in Johar Town, Lahore.

According to a complaint filed at the Nawab Town police station, LESCO officials visited the salon to investigate suspected tampering with the electricity meter. The complaint alleges that Ahmad, accompanied by his associate Adeel and four unidentified individuals, confronted the officials. Ahmad is accused of verbally abusing the team, issuing threats, and attempting to ram his Vigo pickup truck into them.

LESCO authorities claim their investigation uncovered evidence of meter tampering to facilitate power theft. Consequently, the electricity supply to the salon was disconnected, and the evidence has been shared with senior officials to substantiate the allegations.

The police have confirmed that a complaint has been accepted, and an investigation is underway. However, no arrests have been made so far.

As of now, Jawad Ahmad and his representatives have not issued any public statements regarding the accusations. The incident has sparked significant public attention, with many raising concerns about electricity theft and the challenges faced by utility companies in addressing such violations.

It is worth noting that Jawad Ahmad, a celebrated singer and advocate for social causes, gained widespread appreciation in March 2024 for honoring women on International Women’s Day.
