Pakistan Davis Cup Team departs for Kazakhstan ahead of World Group 1Playoff tie

Islamabad, January 26, 2025: The Pakistan Davis Cup team has departed for Astana, Kazakhstan, to compete in the World Group 1 Playoff tie scheduled for February 1-2, 2025.

The team features a mix of seasoned players and emerging talent, including Captain Muhammad Haseeb Aslam (Captain), players Aqeel Khan, Muhammad Shoaib, Muzammil Murtaza, Huzaifa Abdul Rahman, Ahmad Nael Qureshi and Physiotherapist Muhammad Shahid.

Captain Muhammad Haseeb Aslam expressed confidence in the team’s preparations and their potential to deliver strong performances against the formidable Kazakh side. “Our players are determined and well-prepared for the challenge. We are optimistic about our chances and will give our best effort,” he stated.

The tie holds significant importance for Pakistan as it presents an opportunity to progress further in the prestigious Davis Cup tournament. The matches will take place in Astana, with both teams aiming to secure a place in the next stage of the competition.
