Lisbon, February 11, 2025: President Asif Ali Zardari and Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on Tuesday reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation between Pakistan and Portugal across various sectors.

During their meeting at Palácio Nacional de Belém, President Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s strong ties with Portugal, highlighting the warm and friendly relations between the two nations. The leaders explored avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connections.

President Zardari extended a formal invitation to President Rebelo de Sousa to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time, expressing confidence that such a visit would further strengthen diplomatic ties and open new opportunities for collaboration.

As 2025 marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Portugal, both leaders acknowledged the significance of this milestone and reiterated their commitment to enhancing bilateral engagement in the years ahead.
