Karachi, February 12, 2025: Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi and South Africa’s Matthew Breetzke were involved in a tense altercation during the third match of the ODI tri-series at the National Stadium, Karachi. A video of the exchange has since gone viral.

The incident occurred during the first innings when tensions flared between the two players. In the 28th over, Afridi was seen exchanging words with Breetzke after the batter attempted a quick single. Moments later, the confrontation escalated when the two accidentally bumped shoulders while running between the wickets.

Both teams’ captains had to intervene to diffuse the situation, ensuring that the game proceeded without further disruptions.

Having won the toss and opted to bat first, South Africa posted a commanding total of 352. Heinrich Klaasen (87), Matthew Breetzke (83), and Temba Bavuma (82) played key roles in setting up the total.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi was the standout bowler, finishing with 2 wickets for 66 runs in 10 overs.

The fiery exchange between Afridi and Breetzke has since sparked discussions on social media, with fans debating the intensity of the rivalry.
