Islamabad, September 10, 2024- Following the arrest of MNA Sher Afzal Marwat last evening, Islamabad Police continued detaining more parliamentarians from the Parliament House early Tuesday morning. Those arrested include MNAs Zain Qureshi, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Naseem-ur-Rehman, Shah Ahad Khattak, and Sahibzada Hamid Raza.

Earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Shoaib Shaheen were also taken into custody on Monday night. These arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown on political figures amid escalating tensions.

Gandpur Reaches Peshawar

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has arrived at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar. According to PTI, Gandapur held a lengthy meeting with government officials in Islamabad, discussing the province’s law and order situation.

It’s noteworthy that earlier, the spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and PTI leaders had raised concerns about the potential arrest of Gandapur. Barrister Saif had suggested that the federal government might have detained the Chief Minister and demanded that his whereabouts be disclosed.
