Lima, Peru, February 17, 2025: Colombian superstar Shakira has canceled her highly anticipated Sunday concert in Lima after being hospitalized with an abdominal condition, the singer confirmed on social media.

In a statement shared on her Instagram and X accounts on Sunday afternoon, Shakira revealed that she was currently in the hospital and had been advised by doctors that she was not in a condition to perform. “I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today. I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience,” she wrote.

Shakira arrived in Peru on Friday evening for a two-day concert event, with the Lima performance being the second stop on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, following two successful nights in Brazil last week. The singer had been warmly welcomed by Latin fans, with crowds greeting her at airports. “Thank you for such an emotional welcome, Lima!” she posted on Instagram Saturday.

In her statement, Shakira expressed her hope for a quick recovery, saying, “My plan is to perform this show as soon as possible. My team and the promoter are already working on a new date.”

The singer’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, in support of her latest album, reflects her journey through a highly publicized divorce. The album features the global hit “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” which won Best Latin Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards earlier this month.

Shakira’s tour will continue across Latin America before she heads to Canada and the U.S. in May for a series of concerts through June.
