Lahore, February 24, 2025: The iconic Horse and Cattle Show 2025 concluded with a grand closing ceremony in Lahore, attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir. The 16-day festival, which set new records with millions of attendees, showcased Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, thrilling competitions, and international participation. Families, dignitaries, and athletes from 13 countries—including Turkey, Dubai, Baku, Ukraine, and Ethiopia—joined the festivities, hailing the event as one of the finest in the region.

The event featured exhilarating sports and cultural performances, attracting audiences of all ages. For the first time in Lahore, the Shandur Polo Matches captivated spectators, while the dog show at Jilani Park, featuring pedigree dogs, drew great interest from pet lovers. A seven-day tent pegging competition saw international teams competing for top honors, alongside thrilling Buzkashi, archery, and equestrian sports. Traditional sports such as Rustam Punjab wrestling added to the excitement. Cultural performances celebrating Punjab’s vibrant traditions and Gilgit-Baltistan’s unique heritage highlighted the diversity of Pakistan’s provinces. The event also recognized high-milk-yielding livestock, while a special flower exhibition by the Parks and Horticulture Authority and a Children’s Festival at Bagh-e-Jinnah provided further attractions for families.

The grand closing ceremony was a visual spectacle, featuring thrilling tent pegging performances, a mesmerizing drone show, and a breathtaking fireworks display. The event concluded with captivating musical performances by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Arif Lohar, leaving the audience spellbound.

The presence of CM Maryam Nawaz and COAS General Asim Munir underscored the event’s national significance, celebrating Pakistan’s cultural heritage, sporting excellence, and agricultural traditions. With its record-breaking attendance and electrifying performances, the Horse and Cattle Show 2025 has set a new benchmark, reinforcing Lahore’s status as a hub of cultural and sporting festivities.
