Lahore, March 8, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has been rated as the top-performing provincial leader in a new governance survey, with residents praising her administration’s achievements in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. However, concerns persist over employment opportunities and inflation.

The Institute of Public Opinion Research (IPOR) conducted the survey across Punjab’s 36 districts, with 62% of respondents calling Maryam Nawaz’s first year in office “remarkable” in addressing public concerns.

73% of respondents rated Punjab’s education sector as “good” or “very good” while 68% expressed similar satisfaction with healthcare improvements. Infrastructure and cleanliness initiatives were also well received, with 11% improvements noted in both areas.

However, job creation efforts drew criticism, with 63% of respondents rating them as “poor” or “very poor.”

The survey found that 60% of Punjab residents believe Maryam Nawaz outperformed the chief ministers of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. Her “Clean Punjab” campaign, alongside education, healthcare, and infrastructure projects, received the highest public appreciation.

Additionally, 53% of respondents said governance in Punjab has improved compared to the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Despite positive feedback, employment (13%), healthcare services (13%), and inflation control (12%) were identified as the most pressing issues that require urgent attention.

The survey was conducted between February 3 and 18, gathering responses from 66,000 residents across both urban and rural areas of Punjab.

With a strong approval rating in key sectors, Maryam Nawaz’s administration has earned public confidence, but expectations remain high for economic reforms and job creation in the coming months.
