Dubai, March 21, 2025: The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has set new viewership benchmarks in India, becoming the most-watched multi-nation cricket tournament in the country’s history. Hosted in Pakistan and Dubai, the tournament captivated cricket fans worldwide, with India’s matches driving record-breaking engagement.

The high-octane clash between India and Pakistan emerged as the most-watched ODI match ever in India, surpassing the previous record of 19.6 million viewers during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. This marquee encounter generated an unprecedented 26 billion minutes of watch time on television.

The final on March 9, where India triumphed over New Zealand, attracted 122 million TV viewers, making it the most-watched final of any multi-nation cricket tournament in India’s history.

According to official ICC statistics, the tournament amassed approximately 250 billion minutes of watch time, reinforcing its record-breaking success.

A significant portion of cricket fans turned to digital platforms, with millions streaming matches on mobile apps and online platforms, highlighting the growing digital consumption of cricket content.

ICC Chair Jay Shah hailed the overwhelming response from Indian viewers:

“The Champions Trophy made an incredible comeback after eight years, and the viewership numbers from India have been phenomenal, particularly the final between India and New Zealand.

“These figures reflect the immense popularity of cricket in India and the success of multi-language broadcasting in enhancing fan engagement. The tournament’s marketing strategy, coupled with high-intensity cricket, has created excitement among both existing and new audiences.”

The Champions Trophy 2025 has not only reaffirmed cricket’s dominance in India but also set the stage for future ICC events to reach even greater viewership milestones.
