Lahore, April 18, 2025: The Pakistan women’s cricket team is celebrating a landmark achievement after securing qualification for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, to be held later this year in India. The players, coaches, and fans alike hailed the moment as a defining step forward for women’s cricket in Pakistan.

Captain Fatima Sana led the celebrations, praising the team’s grit and composure throughout the qualifiers.

“We’ve worked tirelessly for this moment,” she said. “Playing at home came with its own pressures, but the team executed our plans perfectly. We’ll approach every opponent with confidence and prepare thoroughly over the next four months to deliver our best on the world stage.”

The Green Shirts secured their place in the tournament with dominant victories over Ireland, Thailand, West Indies, and Scotland, finishing the qualifiers undefeated.

Wicketkeeper Sidra Nawaz described the qualifying campaign as “intense,” adding that the immediate focus remains on finishing strong.

“It wasn’t an easy journey. Our goal now is to finish the qualifiers unbeaten before shifting all attention to the World Cup.”

All-rounder Natalia Parvaiz credited the team’s mental strength and unity.

“We faced tough competition but proved our worth. The World Cup will be even more demanding, but we’re ready. Our unbeaten streak was earned, not handed to us.”

Batter Gul Feroza called the achievement a major boost.

“Qualifying for the World Cup has given us huge confidence. It’s a dream for any cricketer.”

Veteran all-rounder Nida Dar applauded the team’s balance and depth.

“The qualifiers featured strong teams, but our all-round performance made the difference. This was a team effort through and through.”

Young star Shawal Zulfiqar said going unbeaten added extra pride.

“Every player contributed. It’s a special feeling and we want to carry this energy into the World Cup.”

Fast bowler Diana Baig reflected on the journey.

“This marks a turning point for women’s cricket in Pakistan. After a tough year, the team has found rhythm, confidence, and clarity in roles.”

Top-order batter Sidra Amin added a message of belief and resilience.

“This success means everything to us. Full credit to every squad member. We believe in our potential and aim to keep this form alive through the World Cup.”

The 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup will feature eight of the world’s top teams battling for cricket’s most coveted title. For Pakistan, this qualification is more than just a ticket to the big stage — it’s a statement of intent and a promise of a bright future for women’s sports in the country.
