Islamabad is Türkiye’s red line, declares Turkish MP Ali Şahin

Ankara/Islamabad, June 15, 2025: In a striking statement underscoring Türkiye’s strategic priorities, senior Turkish parliamentarian Ali Şahin has declared that Islamabad is one of Türkiye’s “red lines,” asserting that Ankara’s security architecture begins with Pakistan.

“Islamabad is a strategic frontier post for us,” Şahin said. “Türkiye’s security zone effectively begins at the Pakistan-India border. Without securing Islamabad, Ankara itself cannot be considered safe.”

Şahin also emphasized the significance of Pakistan’s nuclear capability, describing it as a key deterrent in the Muslim world. “Israel considers Pakistan a greater threat than Iran because Iran’s nuclear potential remains uncertain, while Pakistan is a confirmed and fully operational nuclear power,” he stated.

He warned that Israel seeks to dismantle any Muslim military or nuclear powers that could pose a challenge to its regional ambitions.

Şahin’s remarks are being interpreted by analysts as a strong signal of Türkiye’s commitment to regional stability and its strategic alliance with Pakistan. His comments also reflect Ankara’s broader vision of fostering greater unity among Muslim nations in the face of emerging global security challenges.

The Turkish MP’s message calls for enhanced defense cooperation, shared sovereignty, and solidarity among Islamic countries to counter external threats and preserve their collective strength.
