Trump warns Iran’s Supreme Leader: “we won’t kill him, at least not for now”

Washington, June 17, 2025: U.S. President Donald Trump raised global alarm on Tuesday with a string of combative posts on Truth Social, asserting American air superiority over Iran and issuing a veiled threat against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In his posts, Trump claimed the United States had achieved “complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” boasting that Iranian air defenses were no match for American-made military technology.

“Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured ‘stuff,’” Trump wrote. “Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”

US president, now serving a second non-consecutive term, went further by directly referencing Iran’s top leader.

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there — We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” Trump declared.

Trump also issued a stern warning, stating that any further missile threats toward American personnel or civilians would provoke a serious response.

“Our patience is wearing thin,” he added.

The remarks come amid spiraling tensions in the Middle East following the recent Iran-Israel escalation, which has drawn international concern over the possibility of broader conflict. Trump’s rhetoric is likely to intensify anxieties in the region and could further complicate diplomatic efforts.

Neither the White House nor the Pentagon immediately commented on the statements.
