Malakand, August 16, 2025: Two children of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) district chief Mufti Kifayatullah were killed, while he and his wife sustained injuries in an armed attack at their residence in Batkhela on Saturday.

Levies officials said the attack was carried out by Mufti Kifayatullah’s own son, who opened fire before fleeing the scene. The slain victims were his brother and sister.

The injured and the bodies were shifted to DHQ Hospital Batkhela, where hospital sources confirmed that Mufti Kifayatullah’s condition is stable. However, his wife remains in critical condition.

Police and Levies personnel have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the suspect.
