Tehran, August 16, 2025: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed readiness to provide rescue and relief assistance to Pakistan, where intense rains and floods have killed over 300 people.

In a condolence message to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday, President Pezeshkian conveyed sympathy with the government and people of Pakistan over the devastating floods. He assured that Iran stood ready to extend humanitarian support and supply necessary relief aid to the affected population.

Pezeshkian also wished a swift recovery for those injured in the disaster.

According to local officials, more than 300 people have lost their lives in northwest Pakistan following two days of heavy downpours and flash floods. Rescue operations are underway, blocked roads are being cleared, and emergency funds have been released. Authorities have warned that heavy rains are expected to continue until August 21.
