Dubai, September 1, 2025: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a record prize money pool of USD 13.88 million for the upcoming Women’s ODI World Cup, to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2.
The amount is nearly four times higher than the prize pool of the 2022 edition in New Zealand (USD 3.5m) and even exceeds the USD 10m prize fund of the Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.
Under the revised structure, the champions of the 13th edition will take home USD 4.48m, compared to USD 1.32m earned by Australia in 2022. The runners-up will receive USD 2.24m, while the two losing semi-finalists will each claim USD 1.12m.
Teams finishing fifth and sixth will be awarded USD 700,000 each, while the seventh and eighth-placed sides will earn USD 280,000. All participating teams are guaranteed USD 250,000, with an additional USD 34,314 for every group-stage win.
ICC chairman Jay Shah hailed the move as a “landmark moment” for women’s cricket.
“This four-fold increase in prize money is a defining milestone in the journey of women’s cricket. Our message is simple: women cricketers must know they will be treated on par with men if they choose this sport professionally,” Shah said.
