Islamabad, September 9, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to deepen cooperation with Kazakhstan in trade, investment, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.
During a meeting with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, who is on a two-day official visit to Pakistan, the premier said Islamabad attached high priority to strengthening ties with Astana through enhanced air, rail, and road linkages.
Shehbaz welcomed the visiting dignitary and conveyed warm regards for President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noting that Pakistan looked forward to his forthcoming visit later this year. He proposed dispatching a delegation to Astana to finalize several MoUs and agreements under discussion.
Nurtleu thanked the prime minister for his hospitality and briefed him on earlier talks held with Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar. He stressed that President Tokayev’s visit to Islamabad would be “historic and successful,” opening a new chapter in bilateral relations.
The meeting was also attended by federal ministers for communications, economic affairs, and railways, along with SAPM Tariq Fatemi and the foreign secretary.
