Rawalpindi, September 9, 2025: Funeral prayers of Major Adnan Aslam Shaheed (31), resident of Rawalpindi, were offered at Chaklala Garrison today. The young officer embraced martyrdom at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) while undergoing treatment after sustaining injuries during a terrorist attack by Indian proxy militants, Fitna al-Khawarij, in Bannu on September 2, 2025.

The solemn ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Defence Minister, Information Minister, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir NI(M), HJ, along with senior serving and retired military officers, civil officials, and relatives of the Shaheed.

Major Adnan Aslam, who led his men from the front with exemplary courage, was remembered as a symbol of unwavering resolve and devotion to the motherland.

In his tribute, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said:

“Today we have lost a valiant son of the soil. His courage, patriotism, and supreme sacrifice will forever remain etched in the nation’s heart. Major Adnan represents the very best of Pakistan — unwavering resolve, love for the homeland, and an unbreakable spirit of sacrifice.”

The martyr’s sacrifice, he added, is a powerful reminder that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain resolute in their mission to root out terrorism in all its forms.

Following the funeral prayers, Major Adnan Aslam Shaheed was laid to rest in his hometown with full military honours, as floral wreaths were laid on behalf of the President, Prime Minister, COAS, and other dignitaries.
