Islamabad, September 17, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday inaugurated Pakistan TV Digital, an English-language news channel designed to project Pakistan’s perspective to the world and counter anti-Pakistan propaganda.

At the launch ceremony, the prime minister unveiled a commemorative plaque and toured various sections of the new facility, where he interacted with young journalists and praised their commitment.

Shehbaz Sharif said the initiative’s primary goal was to provide credible, fact-based news while countering misinformation about Pakistan. “If you are moving in the right direction, committing yourself with passion and energy to serve your country, that itself is a huge inspiration,” he remarked in his first recorded interview for the channel.

Expressing his vision for the future, the premier said he hoped to see Pakistan emerge within the next decade as a strong nation, marked by economic prosperity, peace, and happiness.

The inauguration was attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Secretary Information Ambreen Jan, and other senior officials.

Briefing the prime minister, Tarar said Pakistan TV Digital would serve as “an active and authentic voice of Pakistan” for global audiences, bridging information gaps and promoting public diplomacy.

The minister highlighted that the channel’s content will cover international affairs, economic progress, cultural narratives, and strategic issues — all presented through a Pakistani lens. The platform will combine in-house reporting with a network of freelancers and collaborations with leading wire services, including Reuters and the Associated Press, to ensure real-time, fact-checked, and high-quality coverage.

“This will be a hub for major news, told from a Pakistani perspective, and a direct counter to one-sided narratives prevalent in Western and Indian-influenced media,” Tarar added.
