Chagai, September 26, 2025: Security forces thwarted a major terrorist plot in Chagai, Balochistan, after conducting a large-scale operation against militants of the group Fitna-e-Hindustan. The operation saved the province from significant destruction, officials said.
According to security sources, two militants were killed during the operation, while another, identified as Jehanzeb, surrendered to the forces. The militants had planned to target key installations in Balochistan.
In his confessional statement, Jehanzeb revealed that his real name is Jehanzeb Ali, while his organizational alias was Ali Jan. He admitted to working with militant Zubair Ahmed for the past two years, during which Zubair was responsible for planning sabotage activities.
Detailing the September 23–24 operation, Jehanzeb said security forces surrounded their hideout and called on them to surrender. Instead, militants Nisar and Zubair opened fire. Zubair shot himself to avoid arrest, while Nisar was killed in retaliatory fire. Jehanzeb said he then laid down his weapons and was taken alive.
Reflecting on his surrender, Jehanzeb stated: “After the deaths of my close associates, I realized that fighting is not the solution. Organizations like the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) and Baloch Yakjehti Committee have played a misleading role in society, pushing youth towards violence.”
Defense experts noted that militants linked to Fitna-e-Hindustan have been actively involved in terror plots in Balochistan. They added that groups such as the Baloch Yakjehti Committee continue to manipulate young people for destructive purposes.
