Islamabad, October 4, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for Malaysia on October 5 for a three-day official visit at the invitation of his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim, the Foreign Office announced on Saturday.

According to the FO statement, the visit will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and reviewing regional and global developments.

During his stay, PM Shehbaz will hold comprehensive talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The two leaders will discuss ways to boost collaboration in multiple sectors including trade, IT, telecom, Halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy.

FO Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan confirmed that both leaders are expected to witness the signing of agreements and MoUs covering cooperation in both existing and new sectors. “The visit underscores Pakistan’s continued commitment to strengthening ties with Malaysia,” he said.

The Foreign Office noted that the visit also reaffirms the importance both countries place on promoting peace, stability, trade, investment, and sustainable development.

A high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, and senior government officials will accompany the prime minister.

The FO further said that Pakistan looks forward to mutually beneficial engagements in Malaysia, building on what it called the “solid foundations of friendship and cooperation” that exist between the two nations.

Diplomatic observers say the trip highlights the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and Malaysia, rooted in mutual respect, shared interests, and close collaboration across diverse fields.
