Lahore, October 4, 2025: The Punjab government has decided to supply bottled water door-to-door in remote areas of the province as part of its broader public health and infrastructure initiatives.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, where she was briefed on ongoing service delivery projects.
According to officials, more than 1.15 million people have received medical treatment in flood-affected regions, while Punjab set a new milestone in cervical cancer vaccination, covering 6.5 million girls across the province.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to provide doorstep assistance to persons with disabilities and ensure their needs are met without bureaucratic delays.
In a major transport initiative, CM Maryam Nawaz ordered the launch of electric buses across Punjab by December. The government has also approved a uniform design for bus stops, to be implemented across the province.
The meeting further resolved to establish WASA (Water and Sanitation Agency) offices in 25 districts by December 31, alongside the restoration of 5,000 previously non-functional water filtration plants, which have now been made operational.
On Lahore’s city development plan, officials briefed that Phase 1 of the Lahore Development Project will be completed by November 30. So far, 4,624 streets in the city have been rebuilt or repaired under the initiative.
The Chief Minister also directed strict action against vandalism in newly constructed streets, warning that negligence would not be tolerated.
