Rawalpindi, November 28, 2025: Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha and Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka appeared relaxed and in good spirits as they participated in the official trophy photoshoot ahead of the T20I tri-series final, scheduled for Saturday at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

In a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), both captains were seen enjoying a casual tea-time chat in the lobby of a local hotel, accompanied by traditional live music in the background. The duo later posed with the glittering championship trophy that their teams will fiercely contest in the much-anticipated final.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have taken contrasting paths to the title clash. The hosts dominated the league stage with three consecutive victories to secure an early berth in the final. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, staged a remarkable comeback—after losing their first two matches, they won the next two must-win games to stay alive.

Sri Lanka’s qualification was sealed in dramatic fashion on Thursday when Dushmantha Chameera produced a match-winning four-wicket haul, including a nerveless final over, to edge out Pakistan by six runs. The visitors needed to defeat Pakistan and surpass Zimbabwe on net run rate to reach the final—and they did just enough.

Earlier in that match, Pakistan recovered from a shaky start after being reduced to 43/3 in the powerplay. Captain Salman Ali Agha’s unbeaten half-century anchored the innings, while quick-fire contributions from Mohammad Nawaz and Usman Khan pushed the hosts back into contention. With 10 runs required off the final over, Chameera conceded only three runs to pull off a sensational victory for Sri Lanka.

Both teams now turn their attention to Saturday’s decider, which promises high intensity as Pakistan look to reclaim momentum and Sri Lanka hope to cap their spirited resurgence with silverware.
