Islamabad, December 31, 2025: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday extended his heartfelt greetings to the nation on the eve of the New Year 2026, expressing hope that the coming year will bring peace, progress and prosperity to Pakistan and the world at large.

In his New Year message, Gilani said the dawn of 2026 brings renewed hope, stability and well-being not only for the people of Pakistan but also for oppressed and marginalized communities across the globe. He noted that the beginning of a new year provides an opportunity for positive change in both individual and collective lives and a chance to work together for a brighter and more peaceful future.

Reflecting on the challenges faced by the world in 2025 — including economic hardships, political instability, security concerns and terrorism — the Chairman Senate expressed hope that the New Year would mark the beginning of an end to hunger, poverty, war, terrorism, extremism, sectarianism and social divisions. He stressed that promoting mutual respect, tolerance and cooperation at the global level is essential for lasting peace and prosperity.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasized that at the start of the New Year, the nation should collectively seek the blessings of Allah Almighty for peace, stability and prosperity in the country. He underlined that national unity, harmony and collective efforts are crucial to transforming Pakistan into a hub of progress, peace and development.

He further said that sustainable solutions to global conflicts can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy, while effectively combating terrorism requires a coordinated and collective international strategy.

In his concluding remarks, the Chairman Senate urged the nation to reaffirm its commitment at the beginning of the New Year to work tirelessly for Pakistan’s development and progress in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
