Tehran, January 3,2026: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has strongly cautioned against what he termed “reckless and dangerous” foreign remarks, asserting that Iran will not tolerate any interference in its internal affairs and remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty.
In a message issued on Saturday, the Iranian foreign minister said that some people in Iran affected by temporary exchange rate volatility have recently held peaceful protests, which he described as a legitimate right. However, he noted that separate from these demonstrations, there have been isolated incidents of violent riots, including attacks on a police station and the use of Molotov cocktails against police officers.
Referring to recent comments by former US President Donald Trump, the Iranian foreign minister said that given Trump’s own decision in the past to deploy the National Guard within US borders, he should understand that criminal attacks on public property cannot be tolerated anywhere.
He described President Trump’s message as “reckless and dangerous,” suggesting it was likely influenced by those who fear diplomacy or mistakenly believe it is unnecessary.
Reiterating Iran’s long-standing position, the foreign minister said the Iranian nation has consistently rejected all forms of foreign interference and will continue to do so. He further warned that Iran’s armed forces are on full standby and are fully prepared to respond decisively in the event of any violation of Iranian sovereignty.
