Jeddah, January 11, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held in Jeddah on January 10.
During the meeting, Dar strongly condemned Israel’s recognition of the so-called “Somaliland,” reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Somalia.
The foreign minister also categorically rejected any proposal involving the displacement of Palestinians, reaffirming Pakistan’s principled and long-standing position on the Palestine issue.
Additionally, Dar urged the OIC secretary general to intensify efforts for the realization of the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha commended Pakistan’s consistent and constructive role within the OIC, particularly its advocacy on issues and causes central to the Muslim Ummah.
