Islamabad, January 28, 2026: A condolence session was held at the National Press Club, Islamabad, to offer Fateha for the late Mst. Bhani G. Hussain Mahar, mother of senior journalist Aijaz Mahar. The gathering saw the presence of numerous senior journalists, anchorpersons, and photojournalists, who prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and her place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.

Mst. Bhani G. Hussain Mahar, aged 76, passed away on January 17, 2026, at a private hospital in Karachi following a brief illness. She was laid to rest in her ancestral graveyard in Ghotki, Sindh, with her Qul held on January 20, 2026, at Village Arab Mahar, District Ghotki.

Prior to the Islamabad session, condolence gatherings were also organized in Karachi by Akhtar Hussain Mahar and Khalid Hussain Mahar, and in Houston, USA, by Sajjad Hussain Mahar.

The bereaved sons — Aijaz, Akhtar, Khalid, and Sajjad Hussain Mahar — expressed their heartfelt gratitude to family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers who offered condolences in person, over the phone, and via social media.

May Allah grant the departed soul eternal peace and the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous. Ameen.
