Islamabad, January 1, 2026: The Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of Türkiye, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the State of Qatar have strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, which have resulted in the killing and injury of more than a thousand Palestinians.
In a joint statement, the ministers warned that such actions risk escalating tensions and undermining efforts aimed at consolidating calm and restoring stability at a critical time, when regional and international stakeholders are collectively working to advance the second phase of President Donald Trump’s peace plan and to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
The foreign ministers said the repeated ceasefire violations pose a direct threat to the political process and are hampering ongoing efforts to create suitable conditions for a transition toward a more stable phase in the Gaza Strip, both in terms of security and humanitarian conditions. They stressed the need for full commitment by all parties to ensure the success of the second phase of President Trump’s peace plan.
The ministers also called on all parties to fully uphold their responsibilities during this sensitive period and to exercise maximum restraint in order to preserve and sustain the ceasefire. They urged restraint from any actions that could undermine the current process and emphasized the importance of creating favorable conditions for early recovery and reconstruction.
The statement reaffirmed the collective commitment to advancing a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood, in accordance with international law, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
