Dubai, February 8, 2026: Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, attended a prestigious ceremony as chief guest to mark the appointment of Syed Kashif Ali as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Pakistan.
In his keynote address, Gilani congratulated Kashif Ali on his appointment and described the establishment of the Honorary Consulate as a significant milestone in Pakistan–Moldova relations, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening diplomatic, economic, and institutional ties.
Highlighting Pakistan’s expanding role in parliamentary diplomacy, Gilani stressed the importance of legislative bodies in promoting dialogue, building confidence, and advancing long-term international cooperation. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with Moldova and other partner countries in key sectors such as trade, agriculture, defence, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, information technology, education, and professional training.
The Senate chairman also referenced his role as Founding Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) and welcomed Cambodia’s announcement to host the second ISC conference later this year, calling it a sign of the forum’s growing global recognition.
The ceremony, attended by diplomats and international representatives, underscored Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Moldova, with the new Honorary Consulate expected to serve as a bridge for friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
