AlUla, Saudi Arabia, February 8, 2026: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim on the sidelines of the AlUla Conference 2026 for Emerging Market Economies, where both sides discussed Saudi investments in Pakistan and avenues for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

During the meeting, the Saudi minister praised the high-quality artificial intelligence and technology talent emerging from Pakistan, noting that it ranks among the top globally. He said the Kingdom is keen to leverage Pakistani tech professionals to support its ongoing technological transformation, referencing similar recognition by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt regarding the potential of Pakistan’s technology workforce.

Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s plan to develop a structured pipeline of skilled human resources for key international markets, including Saudi Arabia, aimed at generating mutual economic benefits.

The Saudi minister also shared updates on progress related to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Free Trade Agreement and stressed the importance of enhancing trade and exchanges with Pakistan.

Reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment, Aurangzeb said dedicated Pakistani teams are actively working to finalize Saudi investment commitments in the country. He also appreciated the Saudi government for hosting what he described as a strategically significant conference for emerging market economies and thanked Alibrahim for the Kingdom’s continued support for Pakistan’s economy.
