Islamabad, February 11, 2026: The Delegation of the European Union, Team Europe in Pakistan, and the Embassy of Ukraine issued a joint statement strongly condemning Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, marking four years since the full-scale invasion began.

The statement reaffirmed unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the right of its people to live in peace. It described Russia’s continued attacks—particularly the deliberate targeting of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure during the harsh winter—as unacceptable and serious violations of international humanitarian law.

The joint statement said these actions reflect a disregard for civilian lives and contradict any claims by Russia of negotiating in good faith. It also unequivocally condemned what it termed Russia’s war crimes and stressed the need for accountability.

To counter the aggression, EU Member States have allocated an additional €90 billion in support for Ukraine, underscoring their commitment to stand with the Ukrainian people. The EU is also working to intensify pressure on Russia through further sanctions.

The statement emphasized that any viable path to peace requires Russia to engage in serious negotiations directly with Ukraine. It welcomed ongoing US-led peace efforts and expressed openness to dialogue as part of broader international initiatives aimed at ending the conflict.

Calling for an immediate halt to hostilities, the joint statement urged Russia to withdraw its forces and participate in meaningful peace negotiations.
