Islamabad, February 13, 2026: A day after reports emerged about PTI founder Imran Khan suffering severe vision loss in his right eye, the opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz-i-Ayeen Pakistan (TTAP) staged a sit-in outside Parliament House today.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court was informed that Imran Khan had only 15 percent vision remaining in his right eye. Responding to the reports, TTAP announced the sit-in, vowing to continue “until Imran is admitted to Al-Shifa Hospital” and stressing that “no compromise will be made on Imran Khan’s health.” All PTI parliamentarians were reported to be participating.
PTI leaders, including Asad Qaiser, leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Shahram Khan Tarakai, and Shandana Gulzar, joined the sit-in. They emphasized the demand for provision of medical facilities for Imran in the presence of his family and personal physician.
TTAP chief Achakzai, in a video message, reiterated that the sit-in would continue “until all demands are met.” Awaam Pakistan leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Miftah Ismail also announced their participation, calling timely medical care a legal and constitutional right. Dr. Zafar Mirza, spokesperson of Awaam Pakistan, said, “Imran Khan’s eyesight is at risk without urgent medical treatment! We will stay until he receives the care he legally deserves.”
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s attempt to join the Parliament sit-in was reportedly blocked by Islamabad police, forcing a demonstration outside the KP House. Allegations also surfaced that police “pushed and roughed up” protesters, including Special Assistant to the KP CM on Information Shafi Jan.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry assured the media that Imran would receive medical care wherever he prefers, including Al-Shifa Eye Trust or under supervision of specialists recommended by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, stressing that the matter is medical, not political. He urged the opposition not to politicize the issue, affirming that “there will be no negligence in the matter.”
Separately, PTI requested the Supreme Court to issue formal written directions to ensure Imran Khan is examined by specialists and treated under the supervision of his own doctors. His sister, Aleema Khan, stressed that the written order is required to implement the court’s earlier deadline of February 16.
The sit-in reflects mounting political tension over Imran Khan’s health, with opposition parties insisting on immediate access to medical care and the government emphasizing assurances for treatment while calling for restraint and de-politicization of the matter.
