Islamabad, February 17, 2026: The Embassy of the Netherlands on Tuesday announced the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan’s Ministry of Water Resources and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the water sector.

The MoU was signed at a ceremony hosted by Federal Minister Mian Muhammad Mueen Wattoo, marking a significant step forward in Pakistan–Netherlands collaboration on water management and climate resilience.

According to the announcement, the partnership will focus on capacity building, climate-resilient water management, professional training, applied research, and the organization of workshops. These initiatives are intended to help Pakistan better address water-related challenges, including flooding risks, while promoting sustainable planning for a water-secure future.

The agreement reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and the Netherlands to deepen technical cooperation and exchange expertise in water governance, a critical area amid growing climate and development challenges.
