Lahore, October 29, 2024- Renowned actor Firdous Jamal’s wife has filed for divorce after 35 years of marriage, as disclosed by their son, Hamza Firdous, in a video message.
“I want to clarify that my mother has divorced my father. No woman wishes for divorce after 35 years,” Hamza said. He shared that his mother endured numerous hardships, hoping for change, but the situation never improved.
Hamza discussed his father’s “flaws,” noting behaviors that brought distress to the family. He added that despite attempts to discuss issues with his uncles, they sided with their brother rather than addressing the family’s concerns.
He explained that they had organized expensive treatments for their father out of duty, frustrated by how their father portrayed their efforts as inadequate. “It was our duty as sons, but since our father claims we did nothing, I need to clarify,” he said.
Hamza highlighted his siblings’ contributions, noting one brother sent money, another cared for their father in the hospital, and a sister offered “exceptional support.” Despite their efforts, he felt they had “little impact.”
He recalled a distressing moment during treatment when he fainted upon seeing his father’s wounds, underscoring the emotional toll on the family.
In a recent interview, Firdous spoke about his feelings of isolation during illness and his decision to live in a modest house, explaining that after a life of noise and chaos, he now seeks peace and prefers solitude.
