Murree/Rawalpindi, March 1, 2026: In accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Murree Police has officially transitioned from traditional policing to “Smart Security” by introducing a world-class “Safe Tourism App.” Designed to serve as a “Digital Guardian” for every visitor.

The app integrates key departments—including the Police, Rescue 1122, District Administration, and the Meteorological Department—making them all accessible through a single click. Equipped with specialized protection for women, live weather updates, and dozens of modern features, this smart system aims to reassure the millions of tourists visiting Murree that they are entering one of the safest tourist destinations in the world.

DPO Murree Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer, while briefing the media on the platform, stated that the app has been developed to international standards using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and will function as a 24/7 “Virtual Tourist Guide.” He highlighted that the app ensures immediate access to the Police, Rescue 1122, Traffic Police, and Motorway Police. To prioritize the safety of women and families, a “Virtual Women Police Station” has been integrated into the system, while a live AI chatbot provides instant digital guidance regarding route navigation, weather conditions, and traffic updates.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the DPO introduced the “Text to DPO” facility, which allows any tourist to send a WhatsApp message directly to the DPO Murree in the event of a complaint or emergency. Furthermore, the “Smart Tourism Directory” feature provides a comprehensive list of police stations, hotels, hospitals, workshops, and verified recreational spots, complete with GPS-enabled live locations.

Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer remarked that the primary goal is to secure Murree’s traditional hospitality through modern technology, ensuring that tourists return home with nothing but pleasant memories. He confirmed that the “Safe Tourism App” is now available on the Google Play Store and urged all domestic and foreign tourists to download the application before departing for Murree to ensure their journey remains safe and well-organized.
