Rawalpindi, July 20, 2026: Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday, where the two sides discussed regional security, bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on enhancing Pakistan-Canada relations and exchanging views on the evolving regional security environment.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability, underscoring the importance of cooperation and collaborative efforts to address shared security challenges.
The Canadian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, as well as its constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in the fields of defence and security.
