Islamabad, March 14, 2026: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir has appreciated the efforts of Pakistan’s political and military leadership aimed at promoting peace and restoring stability in the Middle East.

In a statement, Nasir said Pakistan’s leadership was taking serious and effective steps to improve the situation in the region and support diplomatic initiatives to reduce tensions. He particularly commended the role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the country’s defence leadership for their diplomatic and practical efforts to encourage regional stability.

He noted that Pakistan is playing a constructive role not only domestically but also on the international stage to help de-escalate tensions and promote peaceful resolution of conflicts in the Middle East.

Nasir emphasized that disputes and differences cannot be resolved through war, stressing that dialogue and diplomacy remain the most effective tools for resolving conflicts. He added that negotiated solutions could produce positive outcomes not only for the region but also for the global economy.

The deputy chairman said the ongoing situation in the Middle East was having far-reaching repercussions worldwide, affecting global trade, economic stability and the daily lives of ordinary people. He stressed that lasting peace and stability in the region were essential for strengthening economic activity and easing hardships faced by people.

Nasir expressed these views while speaking at an iftar dinner hosted in his honour in Quetta by Provincial Minister for Education and former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani. Provincial Minister for Communications and Works and parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) in Balochistan, Mir Saleem Khan Khoso, was also present on the occasion.

During the gathering, participants also discussed the overall political and economic situation of Balochistan. Nasir said the present government was taking concrete steps to promote education, trade and investment in the province.

He expressed hope that these policies would create new opportunities for development and prosperity, particularly in underdeveloped areas of Balochistan. Nasir added that the province holds strategic importance and that comprehensive strategies were being implemented to improve education, healthcare, communications infrastructure, trade, investment and employment opportunities.

The deputy chairman stressed that the nation must remain united to effectively tackle current challenges, urging all stakeholders to rise above political differences and work collectively for the country’s progress and prosperity.
