Islamabad, March 29, 2026: His Highness Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif this evening in Islamabad for a high-level discussion on regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik, and SAPM Tariq Fatemi.
During the warm and cordial meeting, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his respectful regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and extended greetings to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity and support for Saudi Arabia, appreciating the Kingdom’s remarkable restraint amid the ongoing regional crisis.
Prime Minister Sharif also highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic mediation efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and bringing the U.S. and Iran to the negotiating table. He stressed the importance of unity within Islamic countries at this critical juncture and acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s leadership role in the Muslim Ummah.
The Saudi Foreign Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the reception and shared the latest Saudi perspective on regional developments. Both sides agreed to continue close coordination to promote peace and stability in the region, underlining the long-standing and strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
