Islamabad, April 6, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on the Fuel Subsidy Scheme, emphasizing that relief measures, including subsidies for motorbikes, public transport, and agriculture, must be made operational without delay.

Officials briefed the committee that, with support from the State Bank of Pakistan and provincial authorities, disbursement for public service transport vehicles has already begun. Provincial representatives also confirmed that a mobile application for motorcycle subsidy registration has been launched, with disbursements scheduled to start from this evening.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the subsidy mechanism should be simple, accessible, transparent, and widely publicized to ensure maximum benefit for eligible citizens.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for IT & Telecom, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretary IT & Telecom, Secretary Petroleum, Chief Secretaries of all provinces, and other senior officials from relevant departments.
