Islamabad, May 4, 2026: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a late-night telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi to discuss the evolving regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the two leaders exchanged views on recent regional developments and emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing tensions.

During the conversation, Foreign Minister Araqchi appreciated Pakistan’s “constructive role” and “sincere mediation efforts” between the concerned parties, the statement said.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting constructive engagement and stressed that diplomacy remains the only viable path toward peaceful resolution of disputes and ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The telephonic contact comes amid intensified diplomatic engagements by regional countries seeking to ease tensions and encourage dialogue on key regional issues.
