Rawalpindi, May 6, 2026: Funeral prayers of Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed were offered on Wednesday at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, in recognition of his supreme sacrifice during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the officer embraced martyrdom yesterday after sustaining injuries while leading his troops in an operation against Indian-sponsored terrorists in Balochistan.
The funeral prayer was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, federal ministers, senior civil and military officials, as well as a large number of citizens and relatives.
Paying tribute to the martyr, the Prime Minister lauded his exceptional bravery, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the defence of the country. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces, with the full support of the nation, remain resolute in eliminating terrorism and its facilitators.
He said the sacrifices of martyrs strengthen national resolve and reflect Pakistan’s firm commitment to safeguarding peace, stability, and sovereignty at all costs.
The ISPR stated that Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed will be laid to rest in his native town with full military honours. The armed forces and the nation collectively paid homage to the fallen officer and extended heartfelt condolences to his family.
