Islamabad, June 30, 2026: Khaqan Waheed Khawaja, Chairman of the Pakistan Awami Quwat Party, as well as Chairman of cand Rawal Foundation, has congratulated Engineer Raja Qamar-ul-Islam on his election as Chairman of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence that the commission would benefit from being led by a technical professional.
“We are pleased that the head of a technical institution is a technical engineer himself,” he said. “We hope he will strengthen technical education by expanding opportunities for young people to acquire vocational and technical skills, producing internationally competitive engineers and skilled professionals who will serve the country and enhance Pakistan’s global standing.”
Khawaja said technical education is essential for addressing unemployment and equipping the country’s youth with market-oriented skills.
He noted that Rawal Foundation is already implementing technical training initiatives aimed particularly at unemployed and educated youth, enabling them to pursue careers in technical fields and contribute to national development.
He further said that promoting technical and vocational education is a key part of the Pakistan Awami Quwat Party’s manifesto.
“We have previously helped provide skilled technical manpower at both the national and international levels. I hope Engineer Raja Qamar-ul-Islam will support these efforts and play an active role in advancing technical education and contributing to the country’s progress,” he added.
