Islamabad, July 23, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Australian Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) 2026 in Manila, where the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Australia relations through enhanced cooperation and regular high-level engagement.
According to the Foreign Office, the meeting focused on bilateral relations as well as key regional and international developments. Both sides exchanged views on the evolving geopolitical situation and underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement.
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and de-escalation. The two leaders also expressed concern over recent regional escalations and stressed that dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law remain essential for achieving lasting peace, stability, and security.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila as both countries continue efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
