Cholpon-Ata, July 25, 2026: Pakistan and Belarus have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in trade, defence, agriculture, technology and workforce exchange during a meeting held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting in Cholpon-Ata.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov to review the progress of bilateral ties and discuss avenues for enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.
The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation (2025–2027) and expressed confidence that the framework would further deepen strategic engagement between the two countries.
The ministers also looked forward to the 9th Session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission, scheduled to be held in Islamabad on August 11-12, 2026, describing it as an important opportunity to advance bilateral cooperation and maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed measures to expand economic and trade relations while enhancing collaboration in defence, agriculture, technology and workforce development.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on regional developments and other issues of mutual interest.
Foreign Minister Ryzhenkov appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating dialogue during the recent U.S.-Iran crisis and commended Islamabad’s continued efforts to promote regional peace, stability and security.
The meeting underscored the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus as both countries seek to broaden cooperation in economic, strategic and diplomatic fields.
