Rawalpindi, November 19, 2024-Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has confirmed that the party’s founder has authorized Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan to initiate negotiations.

Speaking to the media outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan stated that she had a long meeting with the PTI founder earlier today.

She revealed that Imran Khan has allowed the two leaders to engage in discussions based on PTI’s demands. According to her, the PTI chief remarked, “Both leaders sought permission for neegotiations.”

Aleema Khan further shared that Imran Khan emphasized the significance of November 24 for Pakistan, urging the public to take to the streets on that day, just as they did on February 8. He assured that the protest would remain peaceful.

The PTI founder has called for negotiations to restore the party’s mandate, secure the release of workers and leaders, and revive democracy, Aleema added.

Imran Khan, she said, praised figures like Dr. Yasmin Rashid for their unwavering commitment to party principles and mentioned that Umar Sarfraz Cheema is steadfast in his stance despite health issues.

Imran Khan has set a deadline until Thursday, Aleema stated, adding, “If the stolen mandate is returned, the protest on November 24 will transform into a celebration.”

When asked whether negotiations would involve the government or the establishment, Aleema Khan clarified that the PTI founder explicitly mentioned the establishment.

She elaborated, “The government itself claims it has no authority, as their representatives openly admit this on television. We will negotiate with those who hold real power.”

Responding to whether political parties should negotiate with other political parties or the establishment, Aleema said, “When the political parties themselves declare they have no power, the logical step is to engage with those who do.”

In conclusion, she noted, “The PTI founder has expressed a practical approach to the current situation, aligning with the prevailing realities.”
