Islamabad, July 28, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday held talks with a visiting United States Congressional delegation, with both sides expressing commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key economic sectors.
The delegation, comprising US Congressmen Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner, called on the deputy prime minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Welcoming the visiting lawmakers, Senator Dar highlighted the positive momentum in Pakistan-US relations and emphasized the importance of building on recent diplomatic engagement.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, information technology, energy and other areas of mutual interest. They also underscored the significance of sustained parliamentary exchanges in fostering mutual trust and reinforcing the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the United States.
The congressional delegation acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to the United States’ economy and society, describing the community as an important bridge between the two countries.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international developments. The visiting lawmakers appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
The discussions reflected the shared commitment of both countries to deepen bilateral engagement and broaden cooperation across political, economic and strategic sectors.
