Pakistan, Türkiye reaffirm commitment to strengthen parliamentary ties

Islamabad, July 29, 2026: Advisor to Chairman Senate and Ambassador to the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) Ms. Misbah Khar held a meeting with Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Türkiye in Islamabad Mr. Berk Ece to discuss ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.

The meeting was also attended by Commercial Counsellor of the Turkish Embassy Enes Malik.

During the discussion, both sides reaffirmed the longstanding, historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.

Ms. Misbah Khar emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in parliamentary diplomacy, trade, investment, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges. She conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and reiterated the Senate of Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary engagement with the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

The two sides also discussed promoting cooperation through the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference and other parliamentary forums to encourage dialogue, mutual understanding and regional peace and prosperity.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing satisfaction over the enduring Pakistan–Türkiye partnership and reaffirming their resolve to further strengthen bilateral ties through sustained parliamentary and diplomatic engagement.
