38 killed, including women; several injured in passenger vehicle attack in Kurram

Lower Kurram, November 21, 2024– At least 38 people, including six women, were killed, and several others injured when gunmen attacked passenger vehicles in the Ucheat area of Lower Kurram on Thursday.

According to Kurram District Police Officer (DPO), the convoy was traveling from Peshawar to Parachinar when it came under fire. The attackers used automatic weapons, resulting in 38 fatalities on the spot. Several injured individuals were rushed to nearby hospitals, with many reported to be in critical condition.

Police and rescue teams responded promptly, sealing the area and initiating a search operation for the assailants. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. He extended prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.
