Islamabad, September 10, 2026: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Thursday paid rich tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 78th death anniversary, saying his visionary leadership, political wisdom and unwavering commitment to constitutional principles remained a guiding light for the nation.
In his message, the Speaker said Quaid-e-Azam’s selfless leadership and historic struggle had changed the course of history and made the creation of Pakistan possible. His political acumen, steadfastness and constitutional struggle united the Muslims of the subcontinent in their quest for a separate homeland, he added.
Ayaz Sadiq said the Quaid-e-Azam consistently upheld the rule of law, constitutionalism, democratic principles and political wisdom throughout his political career. His life demonstrated that faith, unity and discipline were essential to achieving national objectives, he said.
The Speaker stressed the need to familiarise younger generations with the Quaid’s life, struggle and political thought, saying his vision remained highly relevant to Pakistan’s present and future.
He said Quaid-e-Azam had envisioned a Pakistan where the rule of law, democratic values, equality and fundamental rights of all citizens were protected. The Founder of Pakistan had also emphasised equal citizenship and religious freedom for all citizens, including minorities, he added.
Ayaz Sadiq said Pakistan needed to draw guidance from the Quaid’s vision by strengthening state institutions, promoting democratic traditions and fostering tolerance, unity and mutual respect in society.
“By adhering to the principles of Faith, Unity and Discipline, we can put Pakistan on the path to progress and prosperity,” he said, calling for renewed national commitment to these principles.
The Speaker said Parliament was the custodian of Quaid-e-Azam’s democratic and constitutional vision. Strengthening Parliament, ensuring the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law, and enacting effective legislation for public welfare were essential steps towards realising the Quaid’s vision, he added.
He urged political leadership and the people to place national interests above all else and work with unity and solidarity for the country’s development, stability and prosperity.
Ayaz Sadiq said the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation was not merely an occasion to pay tribute to his unparalleled services but also an opportunity to renew the national resolve to uphold his principles through sincerity, dedication and hard work.
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, describing his political vision, perseverance and commitment to principles as an invaluable legacy of Pakistan’s history.
The Deputy Speaker said Quaid-e-Azam had attached fundamental importance to democracy, constitutionalism and the rule of law, stressing that adherence to his principles and vision was essential for building a strong, stable and prosperous Pakistan.
